Hi everyone, Dane Gustafson here, the other half of Bloom! While Katie is the creative visionary, maker, and driving force behind Bloom, I’ve had the privilege of working behind the scenes on the graphic design, web design, and packaging. This is my first post on here, and I’m excited to share a bit about the process behind our reimagined logo and branding as we head into 2025. Let’s dive in!
Honoring the Roots of Bloom
When Katie first started Bloom, she drew our original logo by hand—each stroke a reflection of the care and thoughtfulness she puts into every product. That logo became the face of our brand, representing the commitment to high-quality, handcrafted items. Over the years, it’s served Bloom well, and while it wasn’t because of a shift in our product line or business focus that inspired the change, we both felt it was time for a fresh take.
One of the most rewarding parts of this rebranding process has been revisiting the old sketches that Katie and I worked on together. Seeing how those ideas evolved into the original logo—and now into the updated version—has been such a meaningful journey.
Let's take a quick trip down memory lane:

The original hand-drawn logo by Katie is shown above, which I used as a reference to create a vector version in Illustrator.

The black and white vector shown above was created from the sketch Katie made.

For some time, we experimented with various colors and designs (see above) before ultimately deciding on the final version (below).

The above final draft has been utilized for Bloom branding since 2018.
Introducing The New Bloom Logo!

The process of updating the logo wasn’t about reinventing Bloom but about refining its essence. We wanted to honor Katie’s original vision while creating something that felt timeless and versatile, something that could grow alongside the business.
Here's a quick breakdown:
Circular Design: A cleaner, more professional look that works beautifully for packaging and online use.
Timeless Elements: We kept the lavender and floral motifs, enhancing them to feel both fresh and enduring.
Refined Typography: A stronger, bolder “Bloom” that reflects the confidence and care behind our products.
Tagline: “Natural & Nourishing” emphasizes what Bloom is all about—products based in natural ingredients and made with intention and love.
Website URL: The addition of bloomlavender.com in the logo reflects our fully online presence, making it easy for customers to connect with us and shop our products from anywhere in the US.
As demonstrated in the Bloom branding guide above, we have successfully adapted the logo to various colors, packaging, sizes, styles, and product lines. Stay tuned as we introduce new packaging and branding for both your favorite Bloom products and new ones on the horizon.
Looking Ahead Together
As we step into 2025, our family is filled with gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received on this journey. Bloom has grown from a small idea into something that’s touched so many lives, and that wouldn’t be possible without you—our customers, friends, and supporters.
With this new logo and refreshed branding, we’re excited to continue offering products that are natural, nourishing, and full of love. As we move forward into the new year, we’ll be slowly rolling out our updated packaging and branding. For those with keen eyes, you might have already spotted some refreshed designs featuring our new logo!
Here’s to a year of growth, connection, and celebrating the little things that make life beautiful.
Thank you for being part of the Bloom story—we can’t wait to see what’s next!
