Elegy is Bloom’s gothic romance perfume, created to capture the atmosphere of dark, windswept stories and quiet literary longing. In creating Elegy, my goal was to capture that same sense of atmosphere and reflection of some of my favorite gothic romances, but in fragrance form: the ghostly moors crying out for Heathcliff, the ominous seascape of Manderley, the way that Mr. Rochester calls to Jane across time and space.

When I was a teenager, and even now, I have always been drawn to love stories with a heavy dose of mystery and just a touch of darkness: Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, The Phantom of the Opera, and of course fairy tales (which are often darker than many people realize) all sparked my imagination and left a deep impression on me.

Valentine's Day is near, which means it is Romeo & Juliet season. And while I especially love this fragrance around Valentine’s Day, the truth is that my Shakespearean-inspired clean perfume, Juliet , is one that I (and many of my customers) wear year round.
